The Study Group for Japan’s Rebirth will present a Public Lecture on Japanese History entitled "Why Did Japan Have to Attack Pearl Harbor?: Re-examination of the History with New Findings", presented by Dr. Koichi Mera.
Dr. Mera will be sharing the untold stories that have only recently been established with declassified and decoded documents which were originally made in the 1940s. He will be referring to recently published books concerning decisions made within the White House during the tense moments prior to the Pacific War.
The lecture will be given both in English and Japanese using PowerPoint.
Dr. Koichi Mera has been advising to give attention to recent discoveries and findings that have not been given sufficient attention by historians and writers but are important in interpreting our histories. He is willing to meet with people to exchange opinion and answer questions after his presentation, in order to deepen the understanding of the history.
