The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is pleased to host a webinar on the status of and the outlook of Japanese businesses in the United States on Thursday, August 6, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Japanese companies in the U.S. are now facing unprecedented challenges, namely, a significant decrease in demand, protecting employees from infections, and also being challenged by new VISA immigration issues. At the same time, Japanese companies are also starting to adjust and advance their business models during the new normal. How is the COVID-19 pandemic affecting Japanese companies` operations and what are their directions concerning business activities in America?

Ralph Inforzato, Chief Executive Director, JETRO Chicago will provide an overview of the recent Japanese Investment presence in the U.S., the current business situation and outlook of Japanese companies responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic all of which is based on JETRO`s recent Quick Business Surveys taken during the last five months. We will also invite Ted Kawashima, Director of JAPIA (Japan Automotive Parts Industries Association) North America Office as a guest speaker to share his perspectives about the current situation and the challenges of Japanese automotive suppliers with US based operations.
