Cultural Night (CN) is ULCA's Nikkei Student Unioin's largest event of the year, usually drawing in an audience of more than 1,000 students, staff, alumni, and community members.  CN began 1986 with the Week of Remembrance, an on-campus event created to commemorate the signing of Executive Order 9066, responsible for incarcerating more than 120,000 Japanese-Americans during World War II.  Since then, CN has evolved as a way to showcase talented performers and feature issues that are relevant to the Japanese American community.

Traditionally, NSU’s CN has been free and open to the public.  They strive to keep thier show accessible and welcoming for all, but in order to do that, they need enough funding to cover the costs.  While they are actively pursuing various funding opportunities, CN can still be very expensive.  As a result, they are reaching out for help to reach thier goal to raise $7,000.

NSU provides the opportunity to buy space for an advertisement based on the amount donated.  They accept checks made out to Nikkei Federation, a 501(c)3 organization (Address: 475 Gayley Ave #204, Los Angeles, CA 90024)  or through our online Spark campaign (https://spark.ucla.edu/uclansucn34).

All donations are tax-deductible and they greatly appreciate any amount you are able to contribute to thier cause.  The deadline to send all the necessary information and/or images for advertisements is February 9th.

Even if you are not able to donate, they would love for you to simply attend!  Feel free to invite friends, family, and other community members.  You can reserve free tickets by filling out this Ticket Reservation Form
