In the wake of Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011, U.S. Forces swung into action to assist the Japanese in their relief operations. The effort was named, Operation Tomodachi, the Japanese word for "Friend." US Seventh Fleet continues to position themselves to provide a range of options to support the 107,000 Japanese Self Defense Force personnel leading the disaster relief effort. Join us for an executive briefing on the 13,893 personnel, 14 ships and 130 aircraft participating in Operation Tomodachi.
