The exhibition evinces the recent crafting of Sakai's skill and expertise cultivated over his long career as an iron artist.

His relationship with Iron, which he often relates to chemistry in nature, is carefully reflected in each surface and joining similar to the law of the universe.

In the process of putting the pieces together, the heavy, cold, iron transforms into a complete opposite being. People demand not only function but aesthetics in craftsmanship. The creators, in exchange, achieve the pleasure in supplying the aesthetics This “human and object” relationship is what builds the art of functionality. I am pleased to be the creator of that relationship.

- Naoki Sakai
