POWER OF WORDS: Continuing a Community Discussion

The 2016 Day of Remembrance commemoration at the Gardena Valley JCI will feature Karen L. Ishizuka. She is an independent writer, whose latest book is "Serve the People: Making Asian America in the Sixties." She is also the author of "Lost and Found: Reclaiming the Japanese American Incarceration." In addition she's a documentary film producer and former curator at the Japanese American National Museum.

The program will also feature presentations from the GVJCI class "Sansei Stories" and a spoke word piece from Kyle Toyama. There will also be a display on the art of Roger Shimomura, plus the work of local artists.
