Scholarship Opportunity: TOMODACHI scholarship to attend the The 2016 Junior Summit in Mie, JAPAN

Summit Dates: April 20 – 29, 2016

Location: Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture

If so, apply to attend the 2016 Junior Summit as a TOMODACHI delegate in historic Mie, Japan!

The Junior (J7) Summit is an opportunity for young leaders from G7 countries to convene in Japan and discuss issues of global concern. In youth sessions as well as in meetings with experts you will debate the key issues of the G7 from your perspective, exchange various perspectives and opinions and find common ground. The summit will conclude with delegates traveling to Tokyo, where they will present their positions to high level government officials. The topic of this year’s summit is “A planet for the next generation – Environment and sustainable society.”

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • U.S. Citizens
  • High school students 15 - 18 years old as of April 22, 2016.
  • Students who have a demonstrated interest in international exchange and the Summit theme.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to participate for the entirety of the Junior Summit (April 20-29, 2016)
  • Obtain consent from parent(s) or guardian(s) to participate in the Junior Summit.
