Japan-America Student Conference 80th Anniversary Reception in Los Angeles
Tuesday, July 22, 2014 6:00pm - 8:00pm Bistro Beaux 21605 S. Western Ave, Torrance, CA 90501 MAP (next to Mitsuwa Torrance)
Featured Speaker: Glen S. Fukushima Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) and Japan America Society of Southern California (JASSC) will host a reception to celebrate the 80th anniversary of JASC! In their recent Joint Statement, Prime Minister Abe commended Japan-America Societies and JASC as “indispensable” in promoting U.S.-Japan relations. JASC has also enriched the lives of generations of leaders in both countries since 1934. To commemorate this milestone, JASC and JASSC will host a networking reception. Since Los Angeles is home to many JASC alumni and JASSC members and supporters, this will be a great opportunity to celebrate JASC’s anniversary and to expand the network of professionals and community members interested in U.S.-Japan relations. Glen S. Fukushima (JASC 1970 and 1971), Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, will share his experiences at JASC (where he met his wife, Sakie T. Fukushima), his distinguished government and business career in the U.S. and Japan, and his views on the current state of U.S.-Japan relations.
