FinTech is an industry where finance and technology converge.

As of September 2016, Forbes reports that the global FinTech industry has grown to "over 1,000 companies, US$105 billion in funding and US$867 billion in value." From cryptocurrency (Coinbase, BitX) to robo-advisors (Wealthfront, Betterment); from crowdfunding (Kickstarter, AngelList) to peer-to-peer lending (Sofi, LendInvest), FinTech is reinventing how we handle financial transactions.

But when we look at who’s leading this industry, one has to ask: Where are the women? Despite “holding the purse strings” in the worldwide economy, women in leadership roles in FinTech are near absent. While FinTech flourishes, are women continuing to lag behind their male counterparts when it comes to earning, investing and saving?

A better question: Can the next revolution belong to us? It is essential that women have a seat at the table and help drive the growth of FinTech, both in business and in technology innovation. Whether managing your own business, introducing new capabilities in a corporate department, or maintaining family finances, the dynamics between and among women, money and technology need to be better understood and defined so that women can play major roles in FinTech.

The speakers will examine women's relationship to money and technology, explore how women can contribute to and benefit from FinTech and break through the "Paper Ceiling" to effect change as consumers, entrepreneurs, investors, business managers and leaders in public life.
