Ms. Hammoto is a student of Tokyo Gakugei University Graduate School of Education Course. She is fascinated with drawing Japanese paintings because of the beauty of the special textures and emotions created by colors made from ground stones and minerals. She hopes to become an artist capable of creating artworks that make people’s hearts and minds enriched and more peaceful.

She is the first recipient of the Robert Crowder Award in Nihonga-In (Japanese Painting Society) in 2013.

A reception for the artist will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 6 pm to 10 pm in conjunction with the spring ArtNight, a city-wide art festival in Pasadena.
