2012 Oshogatsu - A Japanese New Year Celebration in Little Tokyo

Various activities and performances will also be held throughout the day!

Performances: 
  • Taiko Drums
  • Kagamibiraki (a sake barrel breaking ceremony)
  • Lion Dances
  • Japanese Folk Songs and Dances
  • Japanese Calligraphy
  • Mochi (pounded rice cake) toss from the stage by the 2011 Nisei Week Queen and her court, and members of LA Kimono Club
  • Kimono Fashion Show by LA Kimono Club 
Activities:
  • Japanese food booths offering delicacies such asmochi (rice cakes), yakisobaonigiri and amazake!
  • Children's craft booths such as Origami (the art of paper folding) and Kite making.
  • Goodie bags for the children (while supplies last) visiting Weller Court and Japanese Village Plaza!
