Friday, August 1, 2014 - Sunday, August 3, 2014

JACCC presents its 2nd Annual Remembering Sadako, Folding for Peace, a multi-generational, multi-ethnic event that will promote peace through children, arts, and culture.

The event pays tribute to Sadako, who was two years old when the atomic bomb was dropped on August 6, 1945, near her home in Hiroshima, Japan. Sadako and her story of a thousand origami cranes have become international symbols for peace for children around the world.

Program events include:

Friday, August 1
Origami folding, Tea Ceremony display, and Ikebana display

Saturday, August 2
Concert for Peace: Melissa Manchester

Sunday, August 3

Call for Peace ceremony
Origami workshops, and storytelling by Grateful Crane Ensemble
